THE flatlands of the East Anglian fens are dominated by two towering testaments to man’s ingenuity. One is a cathedral, the other is a sugar beet factory.

Magnificent Ely Cathedral is more than 1000 years old and took 300 years to build. It is known as the Ship of the Fens and can be seen for miles around.
